Celebrating our tall friends (trees): Why Thought Loves Trees
The Thought: National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration. Each year, the country’s conservation sector, volunteer groups and tree-lovers come together to plant thousands of trees to mark the start of the tree planting season.
The Feeling: Trees are heroes of nature. They sustain wildlife, create oxygen, purify our air and are absolutely beautiful. At Thought we celebrate trees every day, in every way. How? See below.
Thought X Trees:
All of our labels are FSC certified.
This means they are made from sustainably sourced card, which comes from responsibly managed forests. The FSC forest management certification confirms that the forest is being managed in a way that preserves biological biodiversity and benefits the lives of local people and workers, while ensuring it sustains economic viability.
Our packaging is made from recycled paper
All of our postage parcels are made from recycled paper. They’re recyclable and compostable. It’s important to us to consider every area of our business, from how your clothing is made (sustainably of course), to how we transport goods (always by ship, we never use air freight), and the lovely brightly coloured parcels they arrive in. They’re coloured with natural dye too.
We used fabrics like Lenzing Ecovero and Tencel, crafted from sustainably sourced wood pulp.
Plant-based synthetics Lenzing Ecovero, Lenzing Tencel and SeaCell are much better for the environment than more traditional synthetics such as polyester and nylon, which are made from petroleum. These next generation materials use less energy to produce, have a much smaller carbon footprint, and the finished product is not plastic based so doesn’t take as long to break down – in short, they’re better for our planet in every possible way.
