Stockist stories: Jo Amor, Tiverton
Walking, good food and a botanical print are just a few of the things Jo of Jo Amor really loves. She’s the lady behind the romantically dubbed boutique, which lies in Tiverton and stocks our Thoughtful Clothing.
I had a little chat with Jo to get to know her better, and so you could too. Here’s how it went…
Hi Jo, please can you tell our readers a bit about your shop? How would you describe it?
At Jo Amor Tiverton, we offer a quirky collection of stylish and affordable clothing and gifts for women, men and children.
The boutique borrows my maiden name, ‘Amor’. I wanted something original and memorable.
How did Jo Amor start and how long have you been trading?
Jo Amor has been blossoming on Bampton Street for 22 years and it first began life as a pop up shop in friends’ homes.
Tell us a little about Tiverton? What do you love most about the area – maybe you know a hidden gem?
When I’m not working, my favourite thing to do is to go walking; to explore the surrounding countryside.
Knightsshayes, a country estate that’s open to the public for a small charge, is really nearby. If you’re in the area, check out its beautiful park and incredible views looking over Tiverton.
Which is your favourite piece from our current collection?
Definitely the Amelie Dress. The botanical print so on trend – a lovely original colourful print and easy shape to wear. Everybody loves it!
When you’re not working, or walking, how do you spend your time? We’d love to hear about your hobbies…
I’m often meeting friends, cooking and eating nice food, travelling and exploring cool city breaks.
The last place I visited was Lisbon. I got addicted to custard tarts and bombing around on tram no. 28!
Do you have any tips for our readers? It could be about living thoughtfully, a recipe, or even a good way to unwind?
Yoga and trail walking fills my world with calm, happiness and positivity – give any of them a go if you haven’t already.
Thanks for chatting, Jo – it was great to catch up.
